The Prompt Payer Partnership is an organisation promoting prompt payment. Prompt Payers (PPs) are members of an exclusive club that are able to prove that trustworthiness, efficiency and honesty are an integral part of the goods or services they sell.
How does it work?
Businesses sign up to the scheme choosing a day rating according to the length of time they pay their bills. The longest term allowed is 45 days. Once allocated a day rating, businesses will be licensed to advertise their rating position and carry the appropriate PP logo on all their stationery.
For example, a business that settles invoices within 7 consecutive days may promote itself as PP7.
What if a business fails to keep to its rating?
The scheme is run according to strict rules. All breaches of a day rating are investigated. The Partnership has the right to revoke licences and, where necessary, instigate legal proceedings.
